Price Happy With Coolmore Duo

Friday, 28th October 2016

Mick Price has nominated Godolphin colt Astern as the toughest horse to beat in tomorrow's Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. Price will saddle up race favourite Extreme Choice ($3.20) as well as Flying Artie in the $500,000 stallion-making feature, and says Astern ($3.80) will have to bring his A-game if he hopes to topple his star colts. "There's not a lot between them [Extreme Choice and Flying Artie] and they are going into the race in perfect order; I'm very happy with them," Price told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "I think Astern [will be the hardest to beat]. He's a big strong horse...I think he can run the big 1200 metre sectionals but that's what he will need to do." Price added: "Flying Artie is going really well and I think the beauty of Extreme Choice is his last furlong is the strongest part of his race, which is what makes him a good horse."
