Comin' Through Wins Gr3 Carbine Club Stakes
At Flemington in Melbourne, Coolmore's former Gr1-winning Champion Australian Sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a Group success when 3YO colt Comin' Through (Fastnet Rock-Mica's Pride, by Bite the Bullet) scored by 0.2 length for trainer Chris Waller in the $200,000 Gr3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) for 3YOs, over fellow 3YO colts Morton's Fork (Ad Valorem-Dilemmas, by Lonhro) & Bezel (Street Cry-Beaded, by Lonhro). This was the first stakes victory for the exciting Comin' Through who improved his record to 2 wins and 1 placing from 3 starts for $175,525 earnings. Retained to race by his breeder Sir Owen Glenn, Comin' Through is the eighth foal to race from the prolific producer Mica's Pride, dam also of multiple Gr1 winning stallion Criterion, Gr2 winner Varenna Miss and Listed winner Silently. Waller said Comin' Through would only continue to improve. "I ruled out the early spring with this horse and just targeted him at this race which was what we did with Kermadec. They both had two runs coming into this race and they both performed," Waller told racing.com. "He's got the pedigree which gives me confidence and he does everything that's asked of him." He added: "He is still very much an unfurnished colt so there's a lot to look forward to in the autumn with him."
