Rageese Over Injury

Thursday, 1st December 2016

Talented colt Rageese (Street Cry-Rabsha, by Dehere) has recovered from the hoof injury that ruled him out of the Railway Stakes in Perth and will run in the Gr3 Festival Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday, reports racing.com. Trainer Darren Weir said he expects the Sheikh Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum home-bred to run well on Saturday but that he won't be at his peak until the Gr2 Villiers Stakes at Randwick on 17 December. "He seems to be good, he had a few easy days after he had that little foot issue but I'm really happy with him," Weir said. "He is a big bull and having missed that run he might just need the run on Saturday but his main target is the Villiers and he should be right to go there." Rageese, a direct descendant of champion Australian mare Emancipation, was last seen scoring a slashing win in the Gr3 VRC L'Oreal Paris Stakes (1400m) on VRC Oaks day at Flemington.
