First Start For Delago Deluxe Half-Sibling At Geelong

Friday, 2nd December 2016

A valuable half-brother to Newhaven Park Stud's popular young sire and former undefeated Champion 2YO of South Africa, Delago Deluxe, is carded to make his debut at Geelong on Sunday. The 2YO colt, named Eshtiraak, is by reigning Champion Sire Street Cry out of successful Flying Spur mare Succeeding. Trained by David and Ben Hayes, and Tom Dabernig, Eshtiraak was purchased by Shadwell Australia for $400,000 as a yearling at the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale from the draft of Baramul Stud. He has a ready-made stallion pedigree if he can run, with his dam a half-sister to Gr1-winning duo Duporth and Excites, as well as dual Gr1-placed multiple Group-winner Tickets. Grandam Staging was a dual Gr1-placed multiple Group winner herself, and Eshtiraak has obviously displayed sufficient precocity to be starting as an early season juvenile over the 1121m trip.
