Seven Figure Sum For Parvaneh At Arqana
Dual Group winner Parvaneh (Holy Roman Emperor-College Fund Girl, by Kahyasi) topped a strong opening session of the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale when knocked down to agent James Delahooke for €1 million. The 3YO Irish-bred filly, who is out of a half-sister to four stakes winners including Gr2 winners Nayyir and Sky Hunter, is a winner of 2 of her 9 starts, namely the Gr2 T von Zastrow Stutenpreis and Gr3 Schwarzgold Rennen in Germany. "She's been bought on behalf of an American partnership, and will now be retired," Delahooke said. "We tried to buy at Tattersalls last week, but didn't manage to get anything. This filly really fitted the bill, and was in the right price bracket." With 24 less horses offered on the opening day than last year, the day's trade grossed €14,518,000, with an average of €109,158 (up 5%), and a median of €70,000.
