Anderson's Star On Rise

Thursday, 8th December 2016

Chris Anderson is hopeful smart mare Elegant Composure (Bradbury's Luck-Marsh Harrier, by Woodman) can help continue his rise up Brisbane's training ranks in the Listed Just Now Quality at Eagle Farm on Saturday, reports Racing Queensland Webnews. Elegant Composure gave Anderson the biggest thrill of his five-year career when landing the Listed Colin McAlpine Memorial Classic (1200m) at Eagle Farm on November 26. Anderson is confident of another bold showing on the weekend but is concerned about Queensland's recent wet weather. "She's come on extremely well and has ticked all the boxes since her first-up win but the query with her is the weather," he said. "We had a storm early this morning and it will be interesting to see how the track plays. If it gets to a soft 6 or 7 I'll be happy." Anderson is also hoping Elegant Composure can go progress to the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares race at the Gold Coast next month. "Her goal is the Magic Millions but she'll need to win a wildcard race to make it," he said. "She went through the Magic Millions sales but was passed in and was never paid up." The wildcard race Anderson has in mind is the Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm on 31 December.
