Australian Cup Target For Tosen Stardom

Friday, 9th December 2016

Highly regarded Japanese galloper Tosen Stardom (Deep Impact-Admire Kirameki, by End Sweep) will be aimed at the Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington in March, reports racing.com. "He'll just be aimed at the Peter Young [Gr2 Peter Young Stakes in February] and the Australian Cup [Gr1] in Melbourne, those will be his goals," managing part-owner Jamie Lovett of Australian Bloodstock said. "He'll kick off early because he'll be wound up early because he hasn't had much racing." He added: "Hopefully, he'll do the job in the early autumn in Melbourne then we'll bring him to Sydney." The son of Deep Impact was sent to trainer Darren Weir's Victorian stable after Australian Bloodstock purchased a 50 per cent interest in him in April this year.
