Valuable Colt Set For Sydney Debut
Valuable colt Chauffeur is set to make his debut in the 2YO Schweppes Handicap (1100m) at Rosehill tomorrow. Trained by Gerald Ryan, Chauffeur was purchased for $1.6 million by Ryan and Jadeskye Racing at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale earlier this year. By Arrowfield Stud's Gr1-winning high profile stallion Snitzel, Chauffeur is the third foal to race from the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes winner Mirror Mirror, making him a three-quarter brother to stakes-winning juvenile No Looking Back (Redoute's Choice). Trained By Gai Waterhouse, No Looking Back also finished runner-up in the 2012 editions of Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes and Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Should Chauffeur win a stakes race his prospective stud value will soar, being a direct descendant of 1945 Melbourne Cup winner Rainbird. This is the extended family of 5-time Gr1-winning champion South African sprinting mare Laisserfaire, champion New Zealand sire Centaine, as well as stakes winners Time Thief, Personify, Foreplay, A Time For Julia, Galapagos Girl, Procrastinate, and Tennessee Vain. Chauffeur, who has been fitted for his debut with two trial seconds, will be ridden by Josh Parr.
