Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Hurricane Run has died at the age of 14, reports Racing Post. "It is with great sadness that we would like to say we had to give up our great stallion Hurricane Run due to serious complications during a planned routine operation this morning," said a statement from Germany's Ammerland Stud where the son of Montjeu had been standing. Trained by Andre Fabre, Hurricane Run won 8 of his 14 starts highlighted by four Gr1 victories in the Arc, Irish Derby, Tattersalls Gold Cup and King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes. Hurricane Run has thus far sired two Gr1 winners, namely Criterium International winner Ectot and the John O'Shea-trained Metropolitan winner Magic Hurricane.
