Distance Concern For Miss Cover Girl

Friday, 16th December 2016

Trainer Kelly Schweida has expressed a distance concern about Gr1 winner Miss Cover Girl (Monashee Mountain-Tolart, by Show a Heart) in tomorrow's Listed Lough Neagh Stakes (1350m) at Doomben, reports Racing Queensland Webnews. Miss Cover Girl resumed with an unlucky fourth in the Gr3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm earlier this month, but Schweida concedes stepping up to 1350m second-up from a spring break is a worry. "Going the extra distance second-up is definitely one of my concerns with her," Schweida said. "It was a good run in the George Moore and she's come along well since and her work is good." Miss Cover Girl will again be ridden by Damian Brown and is being aimed at the rich Magic Millions raceday at the Gold Coast next month. "Her main goal is the Magic Millions which will be her fourth run back," Schweida said. "She's eligible for three races on the day and she'll run in whichever is the easiest between the Magic Millions Cup, the QTIS race and the fillies and mares race."
