Yankee Rose On The Mend

Friday, 16th December 2016

Meanwhile, David Vandyke says that star filly Yankee Rose continues to recover from surgery following her failure in last month's VRC Oaks in Melbourne. The two-time Gr1 winner pulled up lame when finishing 14th of 15 runners in the fillies classic at Flemington and had to have a bone chip removed from a knee. Prior to that disappointing run, she had confirmed her status as the best filly in Australia when finishing third to champion mare Winx in the Gr1 WS Cox Plate. Vandyke confirmed Yankee Rose (All American-Condesaar, by Xaar) will miss the autumn but he is aiming to have her ready for the Queensland winter carnival before embarking on another spring campaign in Melbourne.
