Ours To Keep Wins Listed Phelan Ready Stakes

Monday, 19th December 2016

At Doomben in Brisbane, Banchory Thoroughbreds' stakes-winning stallion Seidnazar (Rory's Jester-Dangerous Seam, by Straight Strike) sired his first stakes winner when 2YO colt Ours To Keep (Seidnazar-Picabelle, by Piccolo) scored by 0.4 length for trainer Chris Munce in the $100,000 Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1100m) for 2YO c&g, over fellow 2YO colts Snitzkraft (Snitzel-Power O'Raylee, by O'Reilly) & Despatch (Written Tycoon-Zoccoletta, by Fasliyev). Ours To Keep, who was a $28,000 purchase by Munce Racing at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale from the draft of Eliza Park International, extended his unbeaten record to 2 wins from 2 starts for $128,700 earnings. Ours To Keep will now head to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast on 14 January. "He is built like Mike Tyson and floats like Usain Bolt," Munce said. "He'll improve a lot further after this run." Munce, who won three Magic Millions as a jockey aboard Sunblazer (1989), Excellerator (2001) and Dance Hero (2004), is aiming to become the first person to claim the Gold Coast feature as both jockey and trainer.
