Madeenaty Wins Listed (R) Wyong Magic Millions 2YO

Friday, 23rd December 2016

At Wyong on the NSW Central Coast, Darley's former Champion Australian Sire Exceed and Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) added a restricted black-type success when 2YO filly Madeenaty (Exceed and Excel-Set For Fame, by Rest) scored by 0.3-length for trainers David and Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig in the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO (1100m) for 2YOs, over 2YO colt Single Bullet (Not a Single Doubt-Cheetara, by More Than Ready) & fellow 2YO filly Dinnigan (Snitzel-Fashion Rocks, by Dehere). Purchased by Shadwell Stud Australia for $775,000 at the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud, Madeenaty improved her record to 2 wins (including the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes) and 1 placing (the Gr3 VRC Ottawa Stakes) from 3 starts for $209,680 earnings. From Gr1-placed and multiple Group winner Set For Fame, Madeenaty is a direct descendant of the UK-bred mare Coogee (Relic), best known as the dam of outstanding Australian stallion Bletchingly, sire of the legendary Kingston Town, champion mare Emancipation, and Golden Slipper winning sire Canny Lad among others. Madeenaty will now head to the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast on 14 January.
