Wednesday, 1st February 2017

Ducimus, a half-brother to Group winners Hi World and Lite'n In My Veins, showed he had inherited plenty of the family ability when making a winning debut at Ballarat yesterday. Trained by the esteemed triumvirate of John, Wayne & Michael Hawkes, the $700,000 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale purchase led throughout to score a strong 0.4 length win in the 2YO maiden plate over1100 metres. Jockey Noel Callow predicted a bright future for Ducimus. "He's a really nice horse this horse," Callow told Racing.com. "He's probably one of the better two-year-olds that I've ridden. He's very promising." Ducimus is the eighth foal to race from the top producer Beauty World (Danehill Dancer), dam also of dual Gr3 winner Hi World, smart WA galloper and Gr3 winner Lite'n In My Veins, Listed winner Loveyamadly, Gr1-placed American Crew, and stakes-placed Where's Wally.
