That Rings A Bell Breaks Maiden
Danny O'Brien is confident that 3YO filly That Rings A Bell can develop into a black-type horse but won't be making any big plans just yet. The daughter of dual hemisphere champion So You Think looked a filly going places when unleashing a smart turn of foot to post an emphatic 4.25 length win in a 1400m maiden at Sandown yesterday. Her record now reads 1 win and 1 placing from 2 starts. "She certainly had made good strides after her first run and she really flattened out well today. She's got a pretty good brain on her and seems to be picking it up pretty quickly, O'Brien told Racing.com. "She will probably come back here for a 1600 metre three-year-old fillies race and then we will see where we go from there. [At the moment] she is just learning her craft." That Rings A Bell is out of the Catbird mare Cinnamon Bells, a full sister to multiple stakes winner and triple Gr3 winner Catechuchu. This is also the family of champion Australian sprinter and influential colonial sire Century (Better Boy), and dual stakes-winning mare Lucky Witch, dam of Gr3 winners Lucky Diva and Spirit Of Westbury, as well as stakes winners Duke Of Westbury & Gina Lollawitcha.
