Comin' Through First-Up In Eskimo Prince

Friday, 3rd February 2017

Meanwhile, exciting colt Comin' Through (Fastnet Rock-Mica's Pride, by Bite the Bullet) will join stable-mate Omei Sword in launching his autumn campaign in tomorrow's Gr3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick. Comin' Through, a half-brother to multiple Gr1 winner and international campaigner Criterion, announced himself as one of Australia's most promising gallopers when scoring a barnstorming win in the Gr3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington in the spring. Trainer Chris Waller is confident that Comin' Through can emulate his older half-sibling Criterion and continue to develop as he matures. "This horse physically looks like he's only got improvement in him," Waller said. "He was a pretty immature three-year-old in the spring and we were fortunate enough to get some good wins out of him." Waller added: "He's come back stronger." Retained to race by his breeder Sir Owen Glenn, Comin' Through is the eighth foal to race from the prolific producer Mica's Pride, dam also of multiple Gr1 winning stallion Criterion, Gr2 winner Varenna Miss and Listed winner Silently.
