Supreme Profit Wins Gr3 Centenary Vase
At Sha Tin in Hong Kong, Coolmore's former dual Champion Australian Sire Encosta De Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek, by Star Way) added a Group success when 6YO Australian-bred gelding Supreme Profit (Encosta de Lago-Sun Song, by Desert Sun) scored by 1 length for trainer Danny Shum in the Gr3 HKJC Centenary Vase (1800m), over 5YO New Zealand-bred gelding Basic Trilogy (Mastercraftsman-Gold Class, by Gold Brose) & fellow 6YO Australian-bred gelding Romantic Touch (Northern Meteor-Dearness, by Snippets). This was the first stakes victory for Supreme Profit who improved his record to 9 wins and 3 placings from 36 starts for HK$7,894,225 earnings. Supreme Profit was originally a $320,000 purchase by the Hong Kong Jockey Club at the 2012 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Coolmore Stud.
