Tasmanian Oaks Next For Tough Filly
Outstanding filly Hot Dipped will head to the Tasmanian Oaks after extending her unbeaten home state streak to eight with a comprehensive win in yesterday's Listed Strutt Stakes (2100m) at Hobart. Sent out the well supported favourite after a string of four wins, Hot Dipped produced another brilliant turn of foot to come from well back in the field and win by three quarters of a length. The daughter of Written Tycoon, who cost $33,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale from the draft of Reibey Lodge, is the toughest and best three-year-old in Tasmania. "The day I saw this filly I was convinced I could win the Strutt Stakes with her," a proud Brendan McShane said. "There's more improvement to come yet...It's onwards and upwards." Provided the filly pulls up well and continues to please connections the $100,000 listed Tasmanian Oaks (2100m) on February 19 looks an ideal option. "We'll see how she pulls up. That's for discussion. I can't see anything stopping her from doing that," McShane said.
