Cloud Over Omei Sword Resumption
Chris Waller will give high-class filly Omei Sword (High Chaparral-Irish Lights, by Fastnet Rock) a searching gallop this morning before deciding whether she will resume in the Gr2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday, reports AAP. A brilliant first-up winner of the Gr2 Silver Shadow Stakes in the spring, Omei Sword was last seen running an excellent second to Astern in the Gr1 Golden Rose on 10 September. The 3YO was scheduled to open her autumn campaign in last weekend's Gr3 Eskimo Prince Stakes, but was withdrawn due to a slight muscle strain. "Chris had planned to gallop her this morning [Tuesday] but has decided to give her another 24 hours before galloping her," a statement from the Waller stable said. "Therefore she will gallop tomorrow morning [Wednesday]. Chris will then make a decision after that gallop as to whether he will accept with her or not." The statement continued: "At this stage she has not missed a day's work but has been restricted to slow work since last Thursday."
