Divine Prophet To Fly Flag For 3YOs

Friday, 10th February 2017

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes says that Divine Prophet (Choisir-Prophet Jewel, by Encosta de Lago) has returned from a break a bigger and stronger specimen than the horse that won the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas in the spring. The 3YO opens his autumn campaign in tomorrow's Gr1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield and, despite being the only member of his age-group in the weight-for-age feature, Hawkes says he is up to the challenge. "It's a winnable race for a three-year-old," Hawkes told AAP. "We've done it with All Too Hard before and Yell won this race as a three-year-old as well." He added: "We've got a young horse on the way up so it should be a good test to see where we are going with him." Hawkes said the Gr1 Australian Guineas or the Gr1 Randwick Guineas, both run on 4 March, were logical targets for Divine Prophet after Saturday.
