Super Cash Wins Gr2 Rubiton Stakes

Monday, 13th February 2017

At Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne, Woodside Park's Gr2-winning stallion Written Tycoon (Iglesias-Party Miss, by Kenmare) added a Group success when 4YO mare Super Cash (Written Tycoon-Super Bucks, by Dash for Cash) scored an upset 1.25 length win for trainer Andrew Noblet in the $200,000 Gr2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) for 3YO+, over 3YO filly I Am A Star (I Am Invincible-Star Band, by Dixieland Band) & champion 6YO sprinter Chautauqua (Encosta de Lago-Lovely Jubly, by Lion Hunter). In landing by far the biggest prize of his career, Super Cash improved his record to 4 wins (including the Listed Goodwood Racecourse Trophy) and 5 placings (including the Gr3 MRC Kevin Heffernan Stakes & Gr3 MVRC Typhoon Tracy Stakes) from 14 starts for $360,250 earnings. Trainer Andrew Noblet was delighted with super cash's winning return. "I'm just rapt for this horse," Noblet told AAP. "She had no luck in the spring and to come back and do that first-up is just fantastic." He added: "I thought she was a genuine place chance without being overly confident. I was just worried about the depth of this race, obviously with Chautauqua and a couple of others."
