Frolic Wins Listed (R) Inglis Classic
At Royal Randwick in Sydney, triple Gr1-winning stallion Husson (Hussonet-Villa Elisa, by Roy) added a restricted black-type success when 2YO bay filly Frolic (Husson-Leveller, by Redoute's Choice) stormed home from last to first to score by 1.3 lengths for trainer Michael Freedman in the $250,000 Listed (R) Inglis Classic (1200m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO filly Sweet Deal (Casino Prince-Dorothy Evelyn, by Royal Academy) & Lets Get Nauti Gal (Harbour Watch-Zecchino, by Fairy King). Frolic, who was a $100,000 purchase by Blue Sky Bloodstock at the 2016 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the draft of Vinery Stud, improved her record to 1 win and 2 placings from 3 starts for $165,100 earnings. She is raced by the Kelly family of Newhaven Park's Suffolk Vale partnership. Winning trainer Michael Freedman has eyes on a bigger prize with Frolic following her devastating win. "Hopefully she can press on deeper into the autumn from here but we'll just see how she comes through today,'' he said. "I think ultimately she will be better at 1400m to a mile, but there might be some nice races for her over The Championships.''
