Monday, 20th February 2017

New Zealand-bred filly Casta Diva, the first foal to race of snow white mare The Opera House (Zabeel), finished tenth when making her debut in a New Comer Race over 1800 metres at Tokyo racecourse in Japan on Sunday. The 2YO by High Chaparral, who shares her mother's striking white hue, was purchased for NZ$450,000 by the Dearest Club of Japan at the 2016 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka. Casta Diva's half-brother by Shamexpress sold for NZ$510,000 at this year's NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale when jointly purchased by the China Horse Club and top Victorian trainer Ciaron Maher.
