In Her Time Wins Gr2 Millie Fox Stakes

Monday, 20th February 2017

At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, former stakes-winning Darley stallion Time Thief (Redoute's Choice-Procrastinate, by Jade Hunter) added a Group success when 4YO mare In Her Time (Time Thief-Hell It's Hot, by Zeditave) scored a dominant 2.3 length win for trainer Benjamin Smith in the $200,000 Gr2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) for 3YO+ fillies & mares, over fellow 4YO mares Euro Angel (Rip Van Winkle-Polish Princess, by Polish Precedent) & Daysee Doom (Rip Van Winkle-Polish Princess, by Polish Precedent). In Her Time, who was passed-in for $38,000 by Kanangra at the 2014 Inglis Classic Sale, posted her second successive stakes victory to improve her record to 5 wins (including the Gr2 Breeders Classic) and 1 placing from 10 starts for $365,225 earnings. Trainer Benjamin Smith said he would now have to give serious thought to running In Her Time in the Gr1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on 11 March, or send her to the spelling paddock. "I hadn't given it much thought [to running in the Coolmore] but I suppose we might reassess," Smith told AAP. "Then again she's not really bred to get much further. She's more from a running family." He added: "There are a few things to think about and we could even give her a let-up."
