Extreme Choice Thriving Ahead of Return

Wednesday, 22nd February 2017

Gun 3YO sprinter Extreme Choice ((Not A Single Doubt-Extremely, by Hussonet) has enjoyed an ideal preparation leading into Saturday's $500,000 Gr1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield, according to his trainer Mick Price. Extreme Choice, who claimed the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes as a 2YO this time last year before returning as a spring 3YO to double his Gr1 tally in Moir Stakes, will be having his first start since finishing fifth behind stable-mate Flying Artie in the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes on 29 October. "He had a really solid gallop here [Caulfield] Saturday morning and pulled up well in the wind and he worked well with Craig Newitt riding him on the course proper at Caulfield on Tuesday," trainer Mick Price told Racing.com. "I can't get him any fitter, it's just a question of whether he can win the Oakleigh Plate first-up as a three-year-old but he's really well in himself and he'll run well."
