Bigger Races in Store For Dawn Wall
Chris Waller is predicting a bright future for blue blooded filly Dawn Wall after she posted her second win from three starts in the Casino Prince @ Vinery Handicap (1800m) at Rosehill Gardens yesterday. Raced by a high-profile group of owners including the Niarchos family's Flaxman Stables and Coolmore Stud, the beautifully bred Dawn Wall is by Fastnet Rock out of the unraced Entrepreneur mare Mennetou (IRE), a half-sister to Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner and sire Carnegie from fellow Arc winner Detroit (Riverman-Derna, by Sunny Boy). This is the family of Cambridge Stud's deceased multiple champion sire Zabeel, Australian Guineas winner Baryshnikov, and Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Durtal. "She's owned by a good group of owners that have given me a very nice horse to train," Waller told Sky Racing. "She's only three but is starting to build into a very bright future." He added: "It was good to see her be a little bit dominant over the final 200 metres for a filly that is still learning her craft."
