Newgate Sets Capitalist Fee

Thursday, 23rd February 2017

Newgate Farm have announced that last year’s Golden Slipper winner and Champion Australian 2YO Capitalist will stand for a fee of $55,000 inc GST in 2017. A winner of 4 of his 7 starts for $3,545,900 in earnings, the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Capitalist (Written Tycoon-Kitalpha, by Fusaichi Pegasus) became the world's highest ever stakes winning 2YO after feature wins in the Gr1 Golden Slipper, Magic Millions 2YO Classic, and Listed Breeders Plate - the first horse in history to win the treble. Newgate Farm Managing Director Henry Field said: "Naturally with such an impeccable profile we have been inundated with people wanting to book in mares. Having a Golden Slipper winning Champion 2YO standing at Newgate is what you dream of as a studmaster, and Capitalist’s initial book will be hand crafted to give him every opportunity to be the champion stallion I am confident he will become." Field added: "With a number of top-class Group winning and producing mares already committed, we have now finalised his standing arrangements and there a limited number of shares have been made available for top breeders.” Capitalist is available for inspection by appointment only.
