Man From Uncle Well Ahead of Guineas
The Cummings stable is confident that progressive 3YO Man From Uncle (Uncle Mo-Derelique, by Danehill Dancer) can continue on his winning way in the $1 million Gr1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) on Saturday. The son of former Champion US 2YO Uncle Mo is unbeaten this preparation, posting impressive wins in both the Gr3 Eskimo Prince (1200m) and Gr2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) in Sydney. "He's going pretty good," stable foreman Edward Cummings told racenet. "He's done everything we could have asked this prep. He's come on again from the Hobartville. He will relish the 1600 metres and is proven in the ground." Cummings added: "He did some lovely work this morning. It was a nice gallop on the course proper, coming up the last two furlongs, strong through the line and wanting to do more." Man From Uncle is on the second line of betting for the Randwick Guineas at $6 along with Inference and Prized Icon. Comin' Through, who finished third behind Man From Uncle in the Hobartville, is favourite at $4.50.
