After nearly thirty one weeks of the 2016-17 racing season, Arrowfield Stud's high profile Gr1-winning stallion Snitzel holds a slender advantage at the top of the national sires' leader board with progeny earnings of $8.05 million. Occupying second spot is Coolmore's former champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock with $8.01 million, while Darley's deceased shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry rounds out the top three with $7.4 million. According to arion.co.nz, the top 10 ranked stallions in Australia (as of 2 March) are:
