QLD Winter Target For Kiwi 3YO

Tuesday, 7th March 2017

The connections of promising young Kiwi stayer Comin'through (Bullbars-Commendable, by The Commander) are eyeing a start in the Gr1 Queensland Derby, reports theinformant.co.nz. Trainer Donna Logan, who prepares the 3YO in partnership with Chris Gibbs at Rotorua, nominated the winter classic as a likely target after Comin'through improved his record to 2 wins from 10 starts with a victory in Saturday's Barfoot & Thompson Handicap (2100m) at Ellerslie. "He had to do a lot of work on Saturday and Leith (jockey Leith Innes) has been saying for quite a while that this is a good horse. Brisbane will be high on the agenda now," Logan said. "He can stay and he's beaten the older horses while he's still very green and still learning." She added: "He looks a nice horse for Queensland and we'll see what happens with Tavidream; he could go there as well, and we haven't ruled out the Rosehill Guineas for him either."
