Spell For Talented Kiwi Colt

Tuesday, 7th March 2017

Beaten Gr1 New Zealand Derby favourite Savile Row (Makfi-Fleece, by Daylami) has major goals ahead of him in the spring, reports NZ Racing Desk. The Michael Moroney and Pam Gerard-trained 3YO had previously finished runner-up at Gr1 level on three occasions in the NZ 2000 Guineas, Levin Classic and Herbie Dyke Stakes. The Kevin Hickman-owned Savile Row will now be spelled with the Hawke's Bay & Melbourne carnivals figuring prominently in the spring plans of his connections. From the UK-bred mare Fleece (Daylami), Savile Row hails from the same female family as Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Solemia and triple Gr1-winning English Derby winner Authorized.
