Well Bred Mare Set For Cuddle Test

Tuesday, 7th March 2017

The well-related Miss Wilson (Stratum-Cierzo, by Centaine) gets the opportunity to boost her value as a future broodmare prospect when she tackles stakes company again this weekend, reports NZ Racing Desk. The half-sister to five-time Group One winner Jimmy Choux is in career best form ahead of Saturday's Gr3 Cuddle Stakes at Wellington. "We're going to stretch her out in the Cuddle Stakes at Wellington on Saturday and see if she can get the mile, and I think she will," trainer John Bary said. "Hopefully she will get a start and at set weights and penalties she gets in with 55kg." Miss Wilson finished in the money in her first three starts for Bary after which she joined Simon Morrish's stable at Ballarat in Victoria. She won once there and finished fourth in the Listed Dandenong Plate before breeder-owners Richard and Liz Wood decided to bring her home. Miss Wilson is unbeaten since returning to Bary, who was particularly satisfied with the 4YOs most recent success at Hawke's Bay. "She was giving the second horse three kilos and she was under pressure. It was really nice to see her pins her ears back and win like she did," he said.
