Perth Filly Ready For Gr2 Test

Thursday, 9th March 2017

West Australian filly Ellicazoom (Testa Rossa-Ellicorsam, by Fimiston) will be seeking her first win outside of her home state when she contests the Gr2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday, reports AAP. The Neville Parnham-trained 3YO was narrowly defeated (beaten 0.1 length) when making her eastern states debut in the Gr2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 25 February. "She's had a little bit longer to settle in and everything seems to be in good order with her. She hasn't missed a beat," Parnham said. "We're expecting she can race to her best on Saturday." He added: "She was very brave the other day. She's a better chaser and had she drawn that fraction better the other day we could have slotted in and I think she would have won." Ellicazoom, a daughter of Vinery's 6-time Gr1-winning stallion Testa Rossa and Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes winner Ellicorsam, is already a stakes winner having won the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) on Melbourne Cup day.
