Humidor Wins Gr1 Australian Cup

At Flemington in Victoria, unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo-Speirbhean, by Danehill) added a Gr1 success when the Darren Weir trained 4YO gelding Humidor (Teofilo-Zalika, by Zabeel) scored by 0.4 length in the $1,505,000 Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) over brave 4YO filly Jameka (Myboycharlie-Mine Game, by General Nediym) & 3YO colt Exospheric (Beat Hollow-Bright and Clear, by Danehill). The NZ bred import took his record to 5 wins (including the Gr3 Manawatu Classic) & 6 placings (including the the Gr1 Livermol Classic, Gr2 TS Carlyon Cup & Gr2 Peter Young Stakes) for $1,113,334 in earnings. Humidor’s 3rd dam is Champion Irish 2YO and Champion European 3YO Habibti, a descendant of the blue hen Eight Carat.
