Monday, 20th March 2017

Two-year-old filly Belle du Nord earned the distinction of becoming the first winner for her sire Reliable Man when scoring over 1200m at Trentham in New Zealand on Saturday. Trained by Emma-Lee & David Browne, Belle du Nord (Reliable Man-Bankside Belle, by Volksraad) improved her record to 1 win and 1 placing from 3 starts for NZ$20,150 earnings. Purchased for $50,000 by Michael Otto Bloodstock at the 2016 NZB National Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Sale, Belle du Nord is from the first crop of French Derby and Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Reliable Man who stands at Westbury Stud in New Zealand. The UK-bred Reliable Man is by Dalakhani out of the Sadler's Wells mare On Fair Stage, a daughter of English, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks winner Fair Salinia. He stood at Westbury Stud last year at a fee of $15,000 + GST.
