Arrogate Works at Meydan

Wednesday, 22nd March 2017

Champion US galloper Arrogate (Unbridled's Song-Bubbler, by Distorted Humor) had his penultimate hit-out in preparation for this weekend’s Gr1 Dubai World Cup when galloping over 800 metres at Meydan racecourse on Monday, reports Blood Horse. "He's handling everything really well. He looks good to me," said trainer Bob Baffert, adding that Arrogate would return to the main track on Wednesday. Baffert said all the signs are positive for Arrogate but he pointed out that there is added pressure. "Because I brought this great horse over here and I don't want to mess it up. It's still a horse race, and when it's a major race, I go into it focused. I don't take anything for granted,” he said. Arrogate, the equal highest rated horse in the world with champion Australian mare based on the latest official rankings, will be having his first start since winning the US$12 million Gr1 Pegasus Cup by 4.75 lengths in January. The Juddmonte Farms-owned Arrogate will become the richest North American racehorse of all time if he wins the Dubai World Cup, surpassing the US$14,746,218 earned by California Chrome.
