William Reid Target for Silent Sedition

Wednesday, 22nd March 2017

Meanwhile, talented mare Silent Sedition (War Chant-Fiorentina, by Dubai Destination) will bypass Friday night's Sunline Stakes in favour of the Gr1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley, reports AAP. The Andrew Noblet-trained 4YO missed out on claiming her first Gr1 triumph when narrowly defeated by Heaven's Above in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill last start. "She got back from Sydney really well and she's in super order," Noblet said. "I didn't want to go to another mile race two weeks before the Queen of The Turf or have another trip to Sydney. So I'll run her in the shorter race and keep the freshness in her legs and then go back to Sydney." Noblet added: "Obviously there's some more seasoned sprinters in there and it's weight-for-age, but she's very consistent and tries very hard so she'll run well." Silent Sedition is on the fourth line of betting for the William Reid at $11 with Tab. Gr1-performed sprinters Spieth and Star Turn share favouritism for the $500,000 feature at $5.
