Shinn Has Faith in Tavago

Friday, 24th March 2017

Jockey Blake Shinn is confident that the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained Tavago (Tavistock-Sara Ann, by Stravinsky) is the horse to beat in tomorrow's $1.5 million Gr1 The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill. Last year's Australian Derby winner put a disappointing spring campaign behind him when recapturing his best form with a dominant win in the Gr3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill two weeks ago. "Third-up he's right at his top now and I expect him to be very hard to beat on Saturday," Shinn said. "I galloped him on Tuesday and I think he's certainly made good improvement from his last run." Shinn added: "Since coming to Sydney he's been thriving and his work has been first class. He's a bit more switched on now as well and ready to run the best race of his preparation on Saturday."
