Country Championships Final Field Finalised

Tuesday, 28th March 2017

Pelerin and After All That have secured the last two spots in the $400,000 Country Championships Final in a thrilling finish to the Wild Card Qualifier at Scone on Sunday, reports racingnsw.com.au. Jumping from barrier 14, Pelerin went straight to the rear and was the widest horse at the turn for home before finishing strongly down the outside to win by a head over After All That with All Summer Long back in third. "It was a great race and Pelerin was very strong late," Buckley said. "The horse will definitely improve on the run as well." Pelerin (New Approach-Super Milli, by Al Maher) has now won 4 of his 8 starts for nearly $60,000 in prize money. The Country Championships Final (1400m) will be run this Saturday at Royal Randwick on the opening day of the Championships (1 April, 2017).
