Gr1 Doncaster Field & Barrier Draw

Wednesday, 29th March 2017

The final field has been declared and the barrier draw conducted for the $3 million Gr1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) to be run at Royal Randwick this Saturday. The capacity field of 20 plus three emergencies is headed by Godolphin's Hauraki who will carry top weight of 57kg. The highest rated horse in the field and favourite for the race is three-time Gr1 winner Le Romain. The Kris Lees-trained 4YO has drawn nicely in barrier six and is currently the $6 Tab market elect ahead of Hauraki (barrier 16) and McCreery (barrier 17) at $8. The only other runner under double-figure odds is brilliant last-start Gr3 Newcastle Newmarket winner Happy Clapper (barrier 2) at $9.50.
