Thursday, 30th March 2017

Well-bred 2YO filly Freeze Over will be given her chance to secure some valuable black-type after posting an impressive win debut win at Sandown yesterday. Trained by John Sadler, Freeze Over made her rivals look significantly inferior when accelerating smartly in the straight to draw clear for an easy 3.5 length win in the Spicer Thoroughbreds Handicap over 1000 metres. She also set a new class record of 56 seconds flat with a brilliant final 600m of 32.68. Sadler said the filly had always shown above average ability and that she could now head to the Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville on 22 April. A homebred for David Moodie's Hesket Bloodstock, Freeze Over is by Exceed And Excel out of Gr3 winner Big Chill (Artie Schiller), a half-sister to stakes winning sprinters Hard Stride and Utah Saints
