Colt Ready to Rush in Gr1 Sprint
Trainer Peter Snowden is adamant that the best is yet to come from top colt Russian Revolution who will be seeking successive Gr1 wins in tomorrow's $2.5 million TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick, reports racenet. Russian Revolution (Snitzel-Ballet d'Amour, by Stravinsky) resumed with a narrow but decisive win in the Gr1 Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill two weeks ago, and Snowden said he has improved ahead of his biggest test in the weight-for-age feature. "Russian is ready to rush, he's good," said Snowden, who trains the China Horse Club-owned 3YO in partnership with his son Paul. "He was always going to benefit from that first-up run because he was very fresh. He'll be better Saturday." Snowden senior added: "He's a real racehorse. He's just a really good horse and we might just see that this preparation." With the recent retirements of Gr1-winners Extreme Choice and Flying Artie, Russian Revolution (Snitzel-Ballet d'Amour, by Stravinsky) has the opportunity to stamp himself as Australia's best 3YO sprinter with a victory this weekend.
