Silent Sedition Chasing Another Gr1

Tuesday, 4th April 2017

Silent Sedition (War Chant-Fiorentina, by Dubai Destination) will be chasing successive Gr1 victories when she contests the $1 million Coolmore Legacy Stakes (formerly Queen of the Turf Stakes) at Royal Randwick on Saturday. The 4YO mare was last seen claiming her maiden top-flight success in the Gr1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley eleven days ago, a race that was only ever intended to be a preparatory run for Saturday's assignment. "I thought she would run really well in the William Reid but to win it was a huge bonus," trainer Andrew Noblet told AAP. "I put her in there mainly because it was going to be a month between runs on a rain-affected track and she was feeling that well." Noblet said Silent Sedition had come through her William Reid run in top order. "She's feeling very, very well so hopefully that translates on race day," he said. "But she doesn't know how to run badly. We had her in the Doncaster and decided to bypass that and go straight here. That's what we aimed her at and hopefully we get the job done."
