Queensland Derby for Wolf

Friday, 21st April 2017

Australian Bloodstock’s Jamie Lovett has confirmed former New Zealand-trained galloper Mongolian Wolf will be aimed towards the winter carnival in Queensland, reports NZ Racing Desk. Mongolian Wolf (Pluck-Oomaroo, by Tale of the Cat) made an auspicious Australian debut when landing the Gr3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) for new trainer Darren Weir at Randwick last weekend. Previously prepared by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, Mongolian Wolf was bought by Australian Bloodstock after finishing 14th in the New Zealand Derby. The 3YO will run in the Gr3 Rough Habit Plate (2000m) at Doomben on 13 May as a lead-up to the Gr1 Queensland Derby (2400m) at Eagle Farm on 10 June.
