Sale Pending for Kiwi 3YO

Wednesday, 26th April 2017

Smart Kiwi 3YO Tavidream (Tavistock-Cinnadream, by King of Kings) will be sold to Australian interests pending the outcome of a veterinary inspection today, reports theinformant.co.nz. The son of Tavistock has looked an exciting prospect winning 5 of his 7 starts to date, including a win in last Saturday's Gr2 Championship Stakes (2100m) at Ellerslie. Co-trainer and part-owner Chris Gibbs said he expected the sale to be finalised by the end of the week. "He's under offer to Australia and we've got a vet coming up tomorrow," said Gibbs, who prepares Tavidream in partnership with Donna Logan. "There was talk of a sale last week but we let them know that we wanted to run him at Ellerslie." Gibbs added: "This way there'll either be a sale by Friday afternoon if he passes the vet, and if he doesn't we'll continue to race him. As it is he's got owners who aren't that keen to see him go but you can't argue the money that's being offered." At this stage, plans are for Tavidream to be aimed at the Gr1 Queensland Derby. He holds a booking for next week's charter flight to Brisbane.
