Jump-Out for Hartnell

Tuesday, 1st August 2017

High-class galloper Hartnell (Authorized-Debonnaire, by Anabaa) has settled in well at Godolphin's Melbourne stable and will have a jump-out at Flemington on Friday, reports AAP. Hartnell, who hasn't raced since finishing a distant second to champion mare Winx in the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes in the autumn, is likely to open his spring campaign in the Gr2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 19 August. "He's great," head Godolphin trainer James Cummings told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "He's going to have a jump-out on Friday at Flemington and we will progress from there." Cummings added: "I would like to think that we know what to expect from him in the jump-out and if he can continue to please us the way he has the last month, then I think we should be in for a good campaign."
