Promising Goodwood Winner for Australian Mare

Monday, 7th August 2017

Walton Street, a 3YO son of Group-winning Australian mare Brom Felinity, stamped himself as a top prospect in the making when maintaining his perfect record at Goodwood on Friday. Trained by Charlie Appleby on behalf of Skeikh Mohammed's Godolphin, the UK-bred Walton Street (Cape Cross-Brom Felinity, by Encosta de Lago) extended his unbeaten record to two wins from as many starts when scoring an eye-catching last-to-first win in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap over 2100m. Walton Street is the fourth foal of Encosta de Lago mare Brom Felinity, winner of the Gr2 Matriarch Stakes (2000m) and Listed Werribee Cup. She was also placed at Group level on numerous occasions and ran narrowly missed out on a Gr1 placing when fourth to Divine Madonna in the 2007 Myer Classic. Brom Felinity is out of Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes winner Brompton Cross (El Qahira), making her a full-sister to Gr1 Australian Guineas winner Delago Brom.
