Menari to Resume in Rosebud

Tuesday, 8th August 2017

Trainer Gerald Ryan has confirmed that richly talented colt Menari (Snitzel) will resume in Saturday’s Listed The Rosebud (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens, reports ANZ Bloodstock News. Menari, who had had his juvenile season, and his brilliant acceleration, thwarted by wet tracks in the autumn, was still able to show his class finishing second in the Gr3 Canonbury Stakes and fourth in the Gr1 Golden Slipper. Targets Ryan has in mind include next month’s Gr1 Golden Rose, the stallion-making Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, or possibly even The Everest later in the year. "He has come through his trials well," Ryan said of the George Altomonte-owned colt. "Josh Parr will ride him and we'll see how he goes in The Rosebud before we decide exactly where he goes.”
