First Foal for Pride Of Dubai

Wednesday, 9th August 2017

The first foal of dual Gr1-winning stallion Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry-Al Anood, by Danehill) has been born at Coolmore Stud in the NSW Hunter Valley, reports breednet. The filly is the second foal out of the unraced Isstoora who, like Pride Of Dubai himself, was bred by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. By High Chaparral out of Murjana (Giant's Causeway), Isstoora is a direct descendant of celebrated blue hen Best In Show, ancestress of multiple champion Australian sire Redoute's Choice among many others. "His Highness has been looking forward to the first Pride Of Dubai foals for quite some time," said Tim Stakemire, bloodstock manager for HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. "This filly appears to have inherited all of the best physical characteristics of her sire which is very exciting. His Highness supported him with a large volume of quality mares in his first season and he is very much looking forward to racing his offspring in years to come." A winner of the Gr1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and Gr1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes as a 2YO - the only horse ever to achieve the double - the outstanding Pride Of Dubai retired in February 2016 with a record of 2 wins and 2 placings from 5 starts for $1,336,100 in earnings. Pride Of Dubai, who himself hails from a blue blooded family that includes champion European sire Invincible Spirit and Gr1 Prix de Diane winner Rafha, will stand at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $44,000.
