First Trial Winner for Spirit Of Boom

Wednesday, 9th August 2017

Eureka Stud’s dual Gr1-winning stallion Spirit Of Boom sired his first official trial winner when his unnamed 2YO colt out of Dazzling Display cruised to a brilliant 8 length win over 600m at Waverley race course in New Zealand yesterday. Trained by Andrew Campbell at Masterton, the colt was purchased by Campbell for $40,000 at this year’s NZ Bloodstock Select Yearling Sale at Karaka. Bred by Eureka Stud and sold by Eureka under the Bradbury Park banner, the colt is out of Dazzling Display (Red Dazzler), a half-sister to Gr2 Queensland Guineas winner Express Air. The colt descends from a prolific stakes-producing family that also includes Gr1 Queensland Oaks winner Mother Of Pearl, unbeaten stakes-winning Kiwi colt Ardrossan, and Listed Doomben Slipper winner Diamondsondinside. Express Air also has a Spirit Of Boom colt named Gorokan Express currently in training with the high profile Lindsay Park stable in Melbourne. Spirit Of Boom will stand his fourth season in 2017 at Eureka Stud at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST) Free Return.
